Naoko Takahashi was born into a middle-class family in Hokkaido, Japan. NaoKo TakaHashi is an artist and musician, working with multi-media installations, performance, books, films, drawings, spoken words, sound and sculpture.
Performative in origin, NaoKo's work deals with issues of translation and confusion of identity played out through language. She often use “documentation” to explore spaces both physical and social and reveal the ambiguities and inconsistencies of communication and identity, in a highly information-saturated society, through which we create multiple identities, confusion and distortion of reality, inventing “alternative” realities.
