Pakistani mathematician
ProfChaudry Mohammad Aslam (1900–1965) was a Pakistani mathematician and renowned cartographer. He was the surveyor general of Pakistan who was instrumental in the demarcation of the borders of the then newly established Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Early life and education
[edit]He was born in British India in 1900 and was initially educated in Amritsar and Lahore, Punjab.[citation needed] He graduated and received his D.Sc. in mathematics, and gained specialisation in Cartography, from Punjab University, Lahore; he became a full professor of mathematics at Khalsa College, Amritsar.[citation needed]
His older brother Mohammad Sadiq (son of Murad Bux) was one of the victims of the British Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in Amritsar in 1919.[citation needed]
